Baby Back Ribs or Spare Ribs - Which Do You Love Most?

You can't claim to be the best BBQ restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks unless you know how to cook up a mouthwatering, finger-licking good rack of ribs. Well, WobblyBoots Roadhouse in Osage Beach just so happens to know exactly how to do that!

As a matter of fact, here at the Boot, we serve two different types of ribs; Baby Back Ribs and Classic Pork Spare Ribs. Some people have a strong opinion about which type they like best. Here's the lowdown on each one to help you decide which to order the next time you're in the mood for some hickory-smoked BBQ.

Baby Back Ribs
The name of this delicious dish does not come from the age of the animal, but rather the smaller size of the ribs compared to classic spare ribs. They are also the tenderest and leanest ribs you can order with meat both between and on top of the bones. These are taken from the top of the rib cage between the spine and spare ribs, below the loin muscle.

Baby back ribs are sometimes referred to as back ribs, loin ribs, or Canadian ribs. The latter is due to the fact that Canadian bacon comes from the same loin meat that is connected to these ribs. Generally, baby back ribs have between 10-13 curved bones that are 3-6 inches long.

Here at the Boot, our Baby Back Ribs Dinner can be ordered as either a full or half-slab of tender, meaty ribs. First, they are coated in our special dry rub. After that, we slow-smoke them, lightly grill them, and baste the ribs with our secret recipe sauce before putting them on a plate next to Texas toast and your favorite side dish.

Pork Spare Ribs
Spare ribs are flatter than baby back ribs and tend to have less meat, but since they are also a fattier cut, that often causes them to be one of the most flavorful cuts. They are taken from the belly side of the rib cage, below the section of back ribs and above the breast bone.

Our Classic Pork Spare Ribs Dinner at the Boot is an experience that true BBQ-lovers thoroughly enjoy. Available as either a full or half-slab serving, our special dry rub is used to coat the juicy ribs and then they are slow-roasted over hickory logs until they reach the perfect degree of mouthwatering goodness! A big ol' slice of Texas toast and one of our homestyle side dishes complete the dining experience.

Ribs... & More!
Here at our Lake of the Ozarks family-style restaurant, you can also order our succulent ribs as either an appetizer or as a part of a combo meal. That way, not only do you get to satisfy those BBQ rib cravings but you also get a taste of one of our other irresistible menu items.

Ribbies & Wings
Two of our most popular items, both on one plate! Four individual pork spare ribs with our house recipe BBQ sauce and six Wobbly Wings with your choice of sauce.

The Wobbly Boots Sampler
Some of the best of what we have to offer! Four Wobbly Wings, four onion rings, four bacon wrapped shrimp, and four of our spare ribs slathered in BBQ sauce. A mountain of food suitable for a big meal or sharing!

BBQ Chicken & Ribs Combo
A delicious combination of mouthwatering 'que! Half a BBQ chicken and a half-slab of pork spare ribs both glazed with our house-made BBQ sauce.

So, what do you think? Will you be a Baby Back Ribs fan or a Spare Ribs fan? The easiest way to find out is to come on into Wobbly Boots Roadhouse and give them both a try!
