People Are Talking About Our Award Winning BBQ!

Our award-winning BBQ has been praised by Southern Living, Golf Magazine, and the Kansas City Star.  For over 20 years we have perfected our delicious recipes to claim national awards from barbecue contests around the country.

We claim to be the best BBQ restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks, but you don't have to take our word for it.  Here are a few of the reviews from the most important critics out there, real people that have visited our Lake of the Ozarks BBQ restaurant recently.

"We really enjoyed our visit to Wobbly Boots. The BBQ was great and the service was good as well. Definitely try the BBQ nachos!"
 - cancun4us, St. Louis, MO, from TripAdvisor

"Amazing! Very Clean. Great Fast and Friendly Service. Food was fresh and very well cooked. Large portions as well. My husband orders wings every where we go and he said these were the best he had in a while. My first 5 star rating ever! Definitely will be back!"
- April Swofford, from Google

"Always great food and great service!!!! One of the best BBQ places on the planet! Try the wings, BBQ nachos and wrangler wrap you won't be disappointed."
 - Scott M., St. Charles, MO, from Yelp

"Amazing food! Huge portions! And great service! All for a very reasonable price! Best restaurant I went to during our vacation!"
 - Katie W, from Facebook

"Lake of the Ozarks perennial favorite for BBQ and drinks. I had the sliced brisket with onions and mushrooms sandwich. It was amazing! Wife had chicken strips and they were good as well. The onion rings are huge and very good. 1/2 order is plenty!"
 - myaaldr, Blue Springs, MO, from TripAdvisor

"Fantastic place for bbq and burgers. We got the bbq bacon burger and it filled both of us up. The onion rings are one of the best we have tried, and my girlfriend and I order onion rings at EVERY burger place we go to. The sweet potato fries were also really good."
- Deron Binkley, from Google

"We found Wobbly Boots after scouring through the Yelp reviews of local eateries. The reviews were solid and the descriptions of their menu lured us in. I had the Gigantic Chicken Fried Pork Tenderloin and it was sooo good. Loved the gravy, mashed potato's and everything about it. So much so I paid very little attention to my husband's Reuben. He seemed to enjoy his meal as much as I enjoyed mine. Neither of us have been so quiet at a meal. Lol - Truly Delightful Food. Too bad we don't have one out in the O.C.!"
 - Lori G, Orange County, CA, from Yelp

"This is a really fun place to eat. The wait staff is very friendly. The food is a amazing. We tried 5 of the sandwich they were all very tasty. It was so good we were in town for 22 hours and ate there twice. Don't miss it."
 - Mikecox65, from TripAdvisor

How To Eat BBQ in 5 Simple Steps

Eating the best BBQ at the Lake of the Ozarks without making a huge mess in an acquired skill.  You'll want to visit us here at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse often to get in plenty of practice to become one of our experts.  Below we have listed some helpful tips to get you started.  Follow these, and you just might get out of here without evidence of what you've eaten all over you.

1.  Prepare

Before the food gets to the table, there are a few things that you can do to get ready for the delicious mess that is headed your way.  Start when you pick out your clothes.  Wear something dark that doesn't show stains easily. (Just in case!)  If you wear white, you are practically guaranteeing that the BBQ will land on you at some point.

Make sure the napkin dispenser is near your side of the table, placed strategically next to a pile of wet naps.  Place one (or two) in your lap, and if you are too worried about getting carried away, tucked into your shirt.    You will also want to make sure that you are seated at a table large enough for your mountain of BBQ-smeared napkins to not be spilling over into your neighbor's personal dining space.

2.  Pick Your Form

Do you prefer to eat with your hands, or a knife and fork?  Unless you are trying to be super-tidy about this, we highly suggest skipping the utensils. (Because where is the fun in that?)  You prepared to get messy in step #1, so grab that BBQ and take a big ol' bite.  It might help to use the tips of your fingers to hold the food, keeping most of the tasty house-made Wobbly Boots BBQ sauce confined to the ends of your hands as much as possible.

3.  Lean In

Just in case you didn't expect to stop for BBQ and ended up wearing white, leaning over your plate as much as possible will hopefully keep any drippings where they belong.  Expect to forget about this every once in a while because you are so consumed with the euphoria of the delicious flavors in your mouth, but if you've covered your lap and shirt with napkins earlier, you might be safe.

4.  Savor

Each bite is likely to add a little sauce to your hands and face, so hopefully you are with people that don't mind letting you stay a little messy and just enjoy the experience.  They should be just as saucy as you are at this point, and if they're not, you know they are super jealous!  Instead of wiping it all away with a towel, lick your lips and fingers.  "Finger-licking good" is a common saying around here for a very good reason.

5.  Clean Up

Once your plate is empty, or at least as empty as your stomach allowed this time around, that's when you can worry about wiping off those last bits that didn't get licked away.  Your wet naps are right there, and we've got plenty of soap in the bathroom to clean you up with before you bid us farewell.

There you go, 5 simple steps to help you make your way through a mouth-watering BBQ meal at the best BBQ restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks.  If you use these tips, you just might make it away from the table looking as spiffy as when you arrived.  That being said, we won't say a bad word about you if you decide to just dive in and leave stained, as long as you leave smiling!  Eating at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse should be fun and satisfying, so don't sweat the sticky stuff, just dig in and enjoy.

Our delicious everyday menu items make us the best restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks, but every Friday and Saturday our menu gets even better. Wobbly Boots Roadhouse cooks up the tastiest Prime Rib in town each weekend for an extra-special dinner.

Even if you have a "usual" each time you order at our Lake of the Ozarks BBQ restaurant, Friday and Saturday give you the perfect excuse to shake it up a little and try something different.  Only strict vegetarians can so no to our mouth-watering Prime Rib (and we bet that deep down they wish they could say yes!)  It is slow smoked and perfectly seasoned, then hand cut and prepared to your requested degree of doneness.

Here is a table to help the steak newbies decide how they would like their Prime Rib prepared.

Rare
Meat center is red and cool

Medium Rare
Center still red, but warm (Generally the ideal temperature for Prime Rib)

Medium
Center is pink and hot

Medium Well
Meat is hot all the way through, center is only slightly pink, but still juicy

Well Done
C'mon, don't be like that!

Our savory Prime Rib is available in either a 10 oz. or a 14 oz. cut.  It's filling on its own, but we couldn't resist pairing it with a big ol' slice of Texas toast and your choice of one of our hearty home-style side dishes.

A meal so amazing, it only makes a special appearance after 5pm on Fridays and Saturdays.  If you haven't had a chance to try our Prime Rib, get on over to Wobbly Boots Roadhouse this weekend.  We're ready to cook up the best Prime Rib at the Lake of the Ozarks just the way you like it - delicious, juicy, and satisfying.
