Easy Holiday Appetizers and Catering at Lake of the Ozarks!!

Need some last minute easy appetizer ideas for your holiday gathering or office party?  Don't let stress and panic take over... We decided to offer a few Easy Holiday Appetizers for those who want to tackle this "night-before project."  These are simple recipes but the easiest solutions is to just call us to cater your event or put your order in for a carry out item!!  We have 3 diverse restaurants with endless options that are sure to please your crowd.  Check out these recipes or see below for our contact information for catering and carryout!!

Cookie Dough Dip

1- 8 ounce pkg cream cheese
1/2 c butter
1 c powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 c chocolate chips
1 c toffee bits (Heath Bar chopped up works great!!)



Instructions:
Cream together cream cheese and butter.  Add remaining ingredients and mix until well-combined.   Serve with graham crackers or apple wedges.





EASY & Delicious Fruit Dip
1 8 ounce container Whipped Cream
1 7 ounce container of marshmallow Creme

Put both ingredients in a bowl.   Whip together - Whip it again - Now Whip it Real Good.  (you get the point) .  The final outcome should be smooth and fluffy.  Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.  Serve with strawberries, bananas, pineapple, grapes or the fruit of your choice!

2nd Annual Deck the Docks 2012

Shorty Pants Lounge is pleased to be a part of the Deck the Docks fundraiser for Dogwood Animal Shelter.   This fun and unique experience was such a huge hit last year, a second cruise was added to accommodate the demand!!  The event is every Friday Night and Saturday through December 30, 2012.  

This year, Shorty Pants Lounge will be open at 4:00pm for dinner on Friday night proceeding the cruise and 11:00am for lunch proceeding the cruise on Saturday. You can also enjoy cocktails and bite to eat after the cruise returns.  Come enjoy the Lake's Favorite Waterfront Cajun Restaurant before you set sail on the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks to view the Christmas lighting along 22mm to the 13mm.  Make your reservations soon - this event is booking up fast!  
Here are a few details of the event:

• Tickets for the cruise are only $20 per person and children under 3 are free.  
• Cash Bar available on board.
• Entertainment will be provided
• Santa will be aboard each cruise for photos with the kids (or adults)
• The Cruise will set sail from Shorty Pants Lounge
• RESERVATIONS ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED!!  Tickets will be available for purchase at each departure, however, to ensure that we can accommodate your party please call 573.374.8849.
• Cruise is approximately 2 hours
• Event is every Friday night and Saturday until December 30, 2012.

All proceeds of the event will go to the Dogwood Animal Shelter.  Last year the event raised $6500 and their hope is to double that amount this year.  Help us reach our goal and experience a fun and unique evening with your family, loved ones or friends.  Donations will also be accepted.

The Disco Party of the Year at Lake of the Ozarks

This weekend we are having the Annual Dog Days Disco Party and you won't wanna miss it!!  Everyone is always excited to get their groove on and show up for the final party of the season - but the question lingering in everyone's mind... "What am i going to Wear"??  Not only did the Disco era have some amazing music, but also a wide array of amazing fashions for you to choose from!!  Here are a couple of ideas to get your imagination juices flowing!!

Go to your local Thrift Stores - this is by far the best place to start when putting together your retro ensemble.  There are plenty of dated clothes to choose from and more than likely you will find them at a great deal!!   Look for polyester shirts, shiny pants, thick chains, halter tops, mini skirts and bell bottoms are some perfect things to look for.

Have fun with your hair - Show off your own hair in a whole new style or choose a wig!!  Men should consider growing a thin mustache or purchasing a "stick on" mustache for the evening or maybe even finding that perfect Afro wig.  Ladies, Afro wigs are also a great choice along with teased hair, super straight hair or maybe try a Farrah Fawcett style.

Dress in Costume - There are some great classic characters from the 70's disco era to pattern your style after.  Starsky and Hutch, Charlie's Angels, the Partridge Family, the Brady Bunch, or how bout the gang from Scooby Doo?  Think about (or Google) the television shows or movies during the 70's and use their style as a party outfit inspiration.

Lake of the Ozarks Fall Harbor Hop 2012

This weekend is the 26th Annual Fall Harbor Hop at Lake of the Ozarks!

Once again Shorty Pants Lounge and Dog Days Bar & Grill will be participating in the Annual Fall Harbor Hop and we are excited to see boating enthusiasts come out for some Lake of the Ozark Hopping!  The event is sponsored by the Lake of the Ozarks Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Marine Dealers Association and Lake of the Ozarks waterfront restaurants.

The Harbor Hop is a boating event in which participants will hop from various restaurants and marinas to draw playing cards in order to build a winning had that is eligible for prizes.  Boaters that want to participate can donate $15 per seven-card hand.  You can start your hop anywhere and begin drawing your first card at any of the 30+ sponsoring restaurants and marinas.  For a complete list go to http://funlake.com/harborhop/

Prize Allocations are as follows:

1st Place - 10%
2nd Place - 9%
3rd Place - 8%
4th Place - 7% each
5th-10th Place - 5 % each
4 Worst Hands - 4% each

13th Annual Bogeys and Beer Golf Tournament

Join us for the 13th Annual Bogeys and Beer Charity Golf Tournament to benefit the Lamb House, Kid's Harbor and the CADV on October 8th.
