Thanksgiving Weekend at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse

We hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. If you'd like to keep the fun going through the weekend, head on over to Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach and spend some of it with us!

In addition to serving up the best BBQ at the Lake of the Ozarks, just like every single other day of the year, we'll also be cooking up our famous smoked prime rib, catching all the football games, and celebrating Happy Hour all day long on Sunday!

Smoked Prime Rib Special

If you had all the turkey you can handle for Thanksgiving on Thursday, you can join us on Friday or Saturday for an incredible cut of beef. We serve the best Prime Rib at the Lake of the Ozarks for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays after 5:00 pm every weekend.

Our version of prime rib is special because it's hand-cut, perfectly seasoned, and slow-smoked over hickory to perfection. It comes as either a 10-oz. 14-oz, or 18 oz. cut alongside a big slice of Texas toast and your choice of one of our homestyle side dishes.

Great Place to Watch Sports

Thanksgiving weekend is full of sporting action and here at Wobbly Boots BBQ, we've got 21 TVs conveniently placed all around the restaurant and bar plus a giant projection screen to show off all the games. No matter where you choose to sit, you'll have a great view of at least one (but more likely a few) of the screens which means you won't miss a moment of the action. As an added bonus, our family-friendly atmosphere makes it the perfect place for even the youngest of sports fans to catch a game with you.

Sunday Happy Hour

We've got a great weekday Happy Hour each Monday-Friday from 3-6 pm with incredible specials on both food and drinks. Quite possibly though, the best Happy Hour at the Lake of the Ozarks happens right here at the Boot all day every Sunday!

This time of year, an all-day Sunday Happy Hour is especially awesome because it coincides with NFL Sunday games! From the time we open at 11:00 am until we close for the night, you'll get discounts on well drinks, wine, and all of our 21 draft beers

We've also got fantastic food specials to go along with those drink discounts which include:

  • Pulled Pork Sliders - 3 for $6
  • Shaved Prime Rib Sliders - 3 for $9
  • Large Pulled Pork Nachos - $2 off the menu price

You can either take a break from that house full of relatives or bring them along with you this Thanksgiving weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks and spend some of the holiday here with us. There's plenty of room for everyone but if you do decide to leave them behind, you can always grab some BBQ to go to take back to them when you're done!

Smoked Turkeys, Holiday Parties, & a Gala of Trees... Yes Please!

The holidays are coming up quickly but planning for the holidays is happening right now. Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach is ready to help you celebrate the upcoming festivities in the most delicious ways possible!

Our Lake of the Ozarks BBQ restaurant not only has the tastiest treats to feed you and your guests but also, thanks to the Gala of Trees, we've got some great holiday decor for you to pick up too!

Thanksgiving Turkeys & More

The best part of Thanksgiving, besides being reminded of the things we all have to be thankful for, is the food. One of the worst parts about Thanksgiving is the hours spent slaving over a hot stove! Let us give you a break and take care of at least some of that cooking for you this year.

Wobbly Boots BBQ is ready to cook up a savory, mouthwatering, hickory-smoked turkey for you and all of your Thanksgiving guests this year. Reserve your own 12-14 pound smoked turkey for just $49.99 today and we'll have it ready for your table for the holiday!

If you already have the turkey but would like for us to smoke it for you, we're happy to do that too! You can bring in a turkey to be smoked for just $1.00 per pound. For those of you that like the idea of not cooking at all, you might want to go ahead and pre-order the side dishes, appetizers, and whatever else you need to fill up your tabletop while you're at it.

12th Annual Gala of Trees

It's time once again for us to fill the Boot with festive holiday trees and wreaths that you can bid on to take home via silent auction. Best of all, the proceeds raised from this event will be given to Candyland, CADV, and Kids Harbor to purchase toys for local children this season.

In addition to being covered in gorgeous ornaments, many of these trees and wreaths are covered in extra surprises like bottles of wine, coupons, event tickets, gift cards, and more. Bidding will take place throughout the entire event and the flier below has all the details about the additional fun that will be taking place.

Holiday Parties & Catering

It's not too early to start thinking about hosting holiday parties beyond this Thanksgiving. As a part of the Barrett Restaurant Group, the Boot offers the best catering at the Lake of the Ozarks backed by the culinary expertise of 3 amazing restaurants - Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, Dog Days Bar & Grill, and Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina!

We can help you to create a customized menu for any type of meal and any size event and even load up the delivery van and bring it to you. If you're looking for a space to hold your party, you might consider reserving the private event room at our Lake of the Ozarks restaurant & bar. We'll take care of the details and you can all just show up and enjoy it!

We hope that you will let Wobbly Boots Roadhouse be a part of your holiday celebrations this year. More than ever, we could all use a good dose of holiday cheer. Find some of that right here at the Boot!

Wondering What's So Great About BBQ? We've Got The Answers!

While BBQ isn't a favorite style of food for every single person in the world, it is for the majority of those people. What makes this type of cooking so absolutely irresistible?

Well, there are quite a few different answers to that question but today, our Lake of the Ozarks BBQ restaurant is focusing on 3 of the top reasons that diners at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach can't get enough of our hickory-smoked 'que!

The Aroma

Before you ever get the chance to sink your teeth into the best BBQ at the Lake of the Ozarks, that glorious scent of freshly smoked meats embraces your sense of smell. As a matter of fact, that delicious scent is present in the parking lot before you even make it through our front doors!

It's a rare person that can keep their mouth from watering once they smell what's cooking at Wobbly Boots BBQ. That sensation is quickly followed by the stomach rumbling because even if you weren't very hungry the second before, you sure are now! Any food that can do that to your sense of smell is definitely one you want to treat your sense of taste with!

The Flavor

The art of BBQ requires patience because the best flavors come out when the cooking is done low and slow. Here at the Boot, we choose to smoke our meats. This process allows us to create the most tender, juicy, flavorful meats possible, always slow-smoking them over our favorite wood - hickory.

First, we generously coat the meats with our secret-recipe rub, then it gets a carefully selected amount of time in the smoker. Here, rather than being cooked directly over the heat, it is instead cooked next to it. The reason we use hickory is that it lends a rich, full-bodied flavor to all of our meats. Once it's done, those meats get a dose of our house recipe BBQ sauce, and the result is a mouthwatering flavor that is simply irresistible!

The Choices

We can't speak for every BBQ restaurant out there, but here at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, we offer a wide variety of different types of BBQ dishes so you can try something new every time you order! There are lots of different smoked meats for you to choose from.

In addition to serving those meats as dinner plates and on a bun, we also put them together in a variety of ways so that even the "same ol' meat" you usually order can be enjoyed in a delicious and fascinating new way. Some of those marvelous, hickory-smoked meats we're talking about include:

  • Hand-Pulled Pork
  • Turkey Breast
  • Pit Ham
  • Smoked Sausage
  • Beef Brisket
  • Burnt Ends
  • Ribs
  • Chicken
  • Wings

Of course, we do realize that there are those rare individuals that do not enjoy the incredible taste of BBQ. (We don't understand it, but they do exist.) If you happen to be friends with one of these people, we still have lots of other delicious dishes on our menu that even they can enjoy, so everybody's happy!

Come & Get It!

Our family restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks opens at 11:00 am, 7 days a week, year-round. That means any day you happen to have that craving for amazing BBQ, we've got you covered! We'll have it hot, fresh, and ready so all you have to do is have a seat, choose a dish to order, and enjoy it!

You can also easily order Wobbly Boots BBQ online through our website. We strive to do whatever we can to make getting all of your favorite foods out of your thoughts and into your stomach! Come on by soon and get your BBQ fix at the Boot!

5 Fantastic "Treats" From the Menu at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse

With Halloween coming this weekend, candy has most likely crossed your mind (and probably your lips) recently. As tasty as a sweet treat can be, we've got foods that are way more satisfying at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse. Plus, if you need something to tame your sweet tooth after a plate of the best BBQ at the Lake of the Ozarks, our dessert menu is sure to do the trick!

Here are just a few of the many delicious items we're happy to whip up and put on a plate or pop into a bag for you. (A to-go bag, that is, instead of a trick or treat bag!)

Famous Onion Rings

The great big, crispy, onion rings served at Wobbly Boots BBQ are so large, don't be surprised if you're able to slip one on your wrist! (We don't suggest it because that gets pretty messy, but it's totally possible!)

First off, we cut fresh yellow onions into big, thick slices. Those are hand-breaded to order and deep-fried to a perfect golden brown. We heap them in a stack on the plate in either a full or a half-order and serve them with our savory chipotle ranch. You can order this incredible appetizer as an upgraded side dish with your main meal too.

Baked Potato Soup

Fall weather calls for something hot and delicious to take off the chill. Our Baked Potato Soup is exactly what you need to do just that. Not your average "cup of soup," this popular Wobbly Boots dish is available year-round but tastes especially incredible as the weather gets colder.

This rich and creamy soup is full of big potato chunks that create a very hearty meal. It's garnished with cheddar jack cheese, crumbled bacon, and green onions and can be ordered by the bowl or by the cup. If you order this all the time and are in the mood for something different, we've always got another Soup of the Day on the menu too for a little variety.

Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

These would be a great bite-size to wrap up like a big piece of candy and pass out as Halloween treats to the adults walking their little trick or treaters from door to door. It might be a bit messy but it sure would bring a big smile to their faces!

Probably best, though, to keep them in just the bacon wrapping on a plate, all for yourself. Each order is made up of 6 large Gulf shrimp individually wrapped in our hickory-smoked bacon and grilled to perfection. For an even tastier treat, try them tossed in our chipotle Buffalo sauce!

Wobbly Boots Sampler

This incredible appetizer plate is best shared with a friend or two, unless you're really, really hungry! It's a platter full of some of the best of what we have to offer, no silverware needed. (But quite a few napkins!)

The Wobbly Boots Sampler is a mountain of food suitable for either a big meal or sharing. It comes with 4 Wobbly Wings, 4 Famous Onion Rings, 4 Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, and 4 Spare Ribs slathered in BBQ sauce. (Like we said, WAY better than candy!)

Open Faced Smoked Turkey

If you're in the mood for a full meal, our Open Faced Smoked Turkey Dinner really hits the spot this time of year. You might want to think of it as practice for Thanksgiving. (And just think, right about now you've got 4 entire weeks to "practice" for that fantastic food holiday!)

Our mouthwatering smoked turkey is served open-faced on white bread with a side of smashed potatoes, turkey gravy, and green beans. We've also got an Open Faced Brisket Dinner that's equally as amazing if you happen to be in the mood for beef instead.

Get It To Go

The dining room at our family restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks opens daily at 11:00 am. We're thrilled to have you join us for a bite to eat in the dining room but if for some reason you need to be someplace else, we're also happy to pack it up and send it with you to go. As a matter of fact, you can easily order Wobbly Boots BBQ online through our website.

So treat yourself this Halloween, or before Halloween, or anytime after Halloween, to something irresistibly delicious from the menu at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach. If you happen to order food to go on October 31, we promise not to make you knock and say "Trick or Treat" when you pick it up. (But we'll surely get a kick out of it if you do say it!)

The Wonderful Wraps of Wobbly Boots Roadhouse

A few weeks ago our blog featured "Down-Home Sandwiches So Delicious, You'll See Them Again in Your Dreams!" (That link will take you back to it, in case you missed it the first time around.) There were a few Wobbly Boots Roadhouse items from the sandwiches section of our menu that were left out but today, we're going to give you a closer look at those.

Our hearty wraps have everything you expect in a sandwich on the inside but on the outside, instead of bread, you'll find a tasty tortilla. This allows us to bundle up all of that tastiness into one easy-to-hold meal.

Wrap Origins

People around the world have been eating wraps in some form or another for a very long time. The wrap as we know it today began gaining popularity in the 1990s and most likely originated in California as a unique version of a Tex-Mex-style burrito.

Stories vary about who actually deserves the credit for beginning the wrap "trend." One tale says it was first served in the early 80s in southern California, while another says this food originated in New York City, and still another version gives credit to a cafe in Connecticut.

One of those stories states that the first wrap served in their particular restaurant wasn't because they'd added it as a new menu item but rather it happened because they ran out of bread! (Quite a few of the best foods were created by accident!)

Wobbly Boots Wraps

Here at our Lake of the Ozarks BBQ restaurant, we've got 5 amazing wraps on the menu for you to choose from. Each one also comes with your choice of one of our homestyle side dishes as well.

Grilled Turkey Wrap
The original Wobbly Boots' wrap! Lightly grilled turkey breast served in a warm wheat tortilla stuffed full of bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar jack cheese, and ranch dressing.

Turkey Avocado Wrap
Hickory-smoked 100% turkey breast served in a wheat tortilla with avocado, roasted pepper & tomato aioli, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheddar jack cheese.

Wrangler Wrap
A wheat tortilla stuffed with three of our signature items - pulled pork, baked beans, and creamy coleslaw.

Smoked Salmon Wrap
Delicate house-smoked salmon paired with a lemon-caper cream cheese and served in a wheat tortilla with lettuce, tomato, and red onion.

Buffalo Chicken Wrap
Breaded chicken tenders tossed in our hot chipotle sauce served in a wheat tortilla with bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheddar jack cheese.

The next time your stomach starts rumbling, head on over to Wobbly Boots BBQ in Osage Beach for one of these "sandwiches" all wrapped up, nice and neat, in a delicious bundle. Each of the five different wraps is equally delicious and chock-full of so many mouthwatering ingredients, you'll have a meal that is both tasty and satisfying!

Meatloaf Gets a Delicious Upgrade at the Boot!

We love our food "holidays" here at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach. If you bother to look for these special days on a calendar, there is something being celebrated every day of the year and most days, it involves food. YUM!

Last week's blog covered National Pulled Pork Day (did you celebrate?) and this week, we've got National Meatloaf Appreciation Day coming up on Sunday, October 18. Sure, meatloaf sometimes gets a bad rap but anyone that thinks they don't like it has obviously never tasted the amazing smoked meatloaf served at our Lake of the Ozarks BBQ restaurant

Today, we've got a quick look for you at the ancient origins of meatloaf followed by an irresistible look at our very own special homestyle version from the kitchen at the Boot.

Meatloaf's Ancient Origins

The origin of this delicious loaf of meat dates back as early as 5th century Rome. The recipe found in one of their ancient cookbooks was made by mixing chopped meat, bread, and wine. Meatloaf is also a traditional dish of Germany, Scandinavia, and Belgium, and it has been linked as a "cousin" of the Dutch meatball.

The origin of modern-day American meatloaf comes from a dish called "scrapple." German-Americans in Pennsylvania made this by combining leftover pork scraps and trimmings with cornmeal and other seasonings. This particular recipe was pan-fried before being served.

The meatloaf of today didn't begin showing up in cookbooks until the late 19th century. It was a very popular dish during the Great Depression because it gave families the ability to stretch inexpensive meats into a large meal. Lots of filler ingredients could be added to make it serve more people, and many housewives went so far as to create "meatless" meatloaves.

Meatloaf Gets an Upgrade

You'll find a marvelous version of meatloaf in the Southern Comfort Foods section of the menu at our Lake of the Ozarks family restaurant. Comfort food is a term that is used to describe dishes that are fairly simple to prepare and often have some type of nostalgia associated with them for the diner. You know, something like Mom or Grandma used to make.

Well, the incredible type of meatloaf that we serve is NOT your grandma's meatloaf! Also, while the ingredients for meatloaf are fairly easy to mix together, the special touches we add to ours is anything but simple.

The biggest difference that makes the most mouthwatering impact is the fact that our meatloaf is slow-smoked over hickory. Hickory-smoked ground chuck is seasoned with fresh veggies and savory spices. Once it has reached the perfect degree of doneness, we serve it up open-faced with brown gravy, smashed potatoes, and green beans. The perfect meal for a fall day!

More Homestyle Comfort

This amazing smoked meatloaf is in good company in the Southern Comfort Foods section of the menu at Wobbly Boots BBQ. You may also want to give these hot and delicious dishes a try this fall too.

Loaded Baker
A huge baked potato stuffed with your choice of pork, beef, ham, or turkey plus cheddar-jack cheese, crumbled bacon, and green onions.

Prime Rib Hot Beef
Shaved prime rib served on bread with smashed potatoes, beef gravy, and green beans.

Open-Faced Brisket
Slow-smoked brisket served open-faced with smashed potatoes, beef gravy, and green beans.

Chicken Fried Chicken
Hand-breaded chicken breast served with smashed potatoes, country-style gravy, and green beans.

Country Fried Pork
Our famous hand-breaded pork tenderloin served open-faced with smashed potatoes, country-style gravy, and green beans.

Open-Faced Smoked Turkey
Delicious smoked turkey served open-faced on white bread with smashed potatoes, turkey gravy, and green beans.

If you think you're not a fan of meatloaf, we challenge you to give the smoked meatloaf at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse a try. It's a taste sensation that is bound to change your mind. Of course, if you're not up for that challenge, we've got plenty of other amazing menu items to satisfy all of your cravings.

Join us in the dining room 7 days a week beginning at 11:00 am or easily order BBQ to go online through our website. Either way, it will be served fresh, hot, and mouthwateringly delicious!
