Any Event, Any Time, Any Size
We mentioned graduation parties and family reunions at the beginning of this blog due to the time of the year, but those aren't the only events we can handle. Whether it's a gathering for a few friends or a gigantic party for 500 people, we can feed them all, and they will be fed well! Birthdays, holidays, office parties, weddings, and more, for breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktail hour, break time, and any other meals in between.     

We Deliver
You're welcome to call in an order and pick it up yourself, but if there is a lot of food involved, we're happy to bring it all to you instead. We'll cook it up, hot and fresh, then load it into the Wobbly Boots Roadhouse catering van. You can't miss it coming down the street, and your friends will be excited when they see it parked at the venue.  

We Can Host The Party Too
If you haven't picked out a venue yet, and your party is the right size, you can host it in the private room at our Lake of the Ozarks BBQ restaurant. The room can be closed off from the rest of the restaurant, and the best part is, not only will we prepare and serve the food, but we'll take care of the cleanup when the party's over too! 

The room has a charming fireplace (more for looks this time of year, but it's great on a chilly night) and a comfortable, down home feel, and it also has close access to the outdoor patio. There are a few televisions in there too, in case any sports fans in your group want to catch a game.

When you're hungry for a hearty bite to eat, the best BBQ restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks offers a wide variety of tasty choices on our menu. If you're in the mood for a sandwich or a wrap, you're especially in luck, because Wobbly Boots Roadhouse has an entire page dedicated to just those! 

A Little Sandwich History
The general term of "sandwich" is said to be named in honor of John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich. People claim that Lord Sandwich invented the food combination of placing meat between two slices of bread. The rumor is debatable, but it makes a pretty interesting story. 

Apparently the Earl was an avid gambler and did not want to take time away from the gambling table to eat a meal during his many hours of play. He would instead have his servants bring him meat between bread slices, and it caught on when others at the table began ordering "the same as Sandwich." Another account suggests that Lord Sandwich was so committed to work that it was his desk that he didn't want to leave.

Beef brisket smothered with sauteed mushrooms, onions, & bell peppers, all topped with melted Swiss cheese.

Smoked beef brisket topped with slices of smoked sausage & BBQ sauce.

Double rubbed and double smoked brisket tips in a beer BBQ sauce topped with coleslaw. Available while they last!

Wrangler Wrap
A wheat tortilla stuffed with 3 of our signature items: pulled pork, BBQ baked beans, & creamy cole slaw. 

Lone Star Sausage & Peppers
Our house smoked sausage served on a hoagie roll topped with Provolone cheese and sauteed bell peppers & onions.

Catfish BLT
A southern-style catfish filet coated in seasoned corn meal and fired to a golden brown. It's served on a hoagie with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and chipotle mayo. 

Additional toppings for these savory sandwiches include: cheese( American, Provolone, Swiss, Cheddar-Jack, Ghost Pepper, Pepper Jack), sauteed mushrooms, sauteed onions, sauteed green peppers, and Bleu cheese crumbles.

September Events at the Lake of the Ozarks

Labor Day Weekend is just the beginning of a long list of fun events going on this September.  Your favorite BBQ restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks hopes that you find the time to attend quite a few of these, between visits to us, of course.  Here is a list of a few things to mark on your calendar. 

Labor Day Weekend - Sept. 4-7

Tons of people make their way to the Lake of the Ozarks for one last "Summer" trip on this holiday weekend.  Fall doesn't start until the end of September, but everyone seems to get busy with work and school around this time of year, so Labor Day is a great reason to plan a mini-vacation. You can most likely see a fireworks display at some point during the weekend no matter where you are.  For a list of venues shooting them off, check out www.funlake.com.  Labor Day is the 3rd most popular holiday for BBQ, following Memorial Day at #2 and the 4th of July at #1.  That means we expect to see all of you during the weekend for the best BBQ at the Lake of the Ozarks.  If you have a large group in town, bring them in, or else call ahead and have us cook up some for you to take back home.  

Wishes For Wonderland Camp Social - Sept. 10

This 3rd annual Summer celebration will feature an auction, live music, and delicious food from Wobbly Boots Roadhouse.  Wonderland Camp gives children with disabilities the chance to enjoy a fun Summer camp experience. Join them at Topsider from 5 pm - 7 pm to learn what this great camp is all about.  

Hot Summer Nights - Sept. 11

The final award-winning Hot Summer Nights for this year is themed "Vettes for Veterans."  The Bagnell Dam Strip will be covered in all makes and models of cars, trucks, and motorcycles.  It's a festive atmosphere with an outside DJ, food, and family fun.  This will be happening from 6 pm - 11 pm, rain or shine.

Lake of the Ozarks Air Show - Sept. 12

This incredible event at the Camdenton Memorial Airport features multiple air show acts, vendor booths, a ping pong drop, and other family-fun activities.  Bring your lawn chairs and sunscreen to enjoy this exciting salute to our military and veterans.  Parking at the airport is $10 per car, or it is free at the Camdenton Schools with a shuttle running from 8 am - 5 pm. No pets or coolers will be allowed.  

Osage Beach Fall Festival - Sept. 12

The Osage Beach City Park will offer free kid's activities, inflatables, and a petting zoo from 10 am - 4 pm.  There will be plenty of activities, displays, vendor booths, and entertainment to keep you entertained all day long, including a Bow Wow Contest at noon.

9th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest - Sept. 17-20

The Lake area will be taken over by motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the United States this weekend.  Over 200 bars and restaurants will be participating, including your favorite BBQ restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks. Wobbly Boots Roadhouse is one of the 24 Official Passport Stops, along with our sister restaurants, Dog Days Bar & Grill and Shorty Pants Lounge.  The weekend will include scenic rides around the Lake, stunt riders, vendor villages, concerts, bike give-a-ways, and more.   

15th Annual Wing Ding - Sept. 24

This tasty event raises money to benefit United Cerebral Palsy.  Local restaurants will be cooking up their very best versions of specialty Hot Wings, all trying to claim the title of "Best Wings at the Lake."  The Lodge of Four Seasons hosts this finger-licking good evening from 5 pm - 7 pm. Tickets are $12.50 in advance or $15 at the door.  Each ticket is good for all the wings you can eat (and they go fast!) plus two drink tickets.  Make sure that you get to the Wobbly Boots Roadhouse booth early.  You know our wings are amazing, so we expect them to be eaten up quickly.  

30th Annual Turkey Festival - Sept. 26

It's Fall Festival time in Mid-Missouri, and this is one of the first to happen in our area.  Eldon, MO hosts this fun day, which includes a parade, music, food, a car show, demolition derby, figure eight derby, a 5K, lots of arts & crafts and vendor booths, and a lot more.  Drive on over for a great Fall day out from 9 am - 5 pm.

Spicy foods increase your body's production of "feel-good" hormones.  These endorphins are the body's natural pain medication and can reduce anxiety and stress, even easing the effects of depression.

Chili peppers can lower the effects of the damage that is done from "bad" cholesterol by increasing its breakdown rate.  The pepper's heat also increases blood flow, which improves heart function and helps to lower blood pressure.
