Exciting December Events at the Lake of the Ozarks You Do Not Want to Miss!

December is a very busy month for many with holiday gatherings and events. Today, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse is featuring two exciting events taking place this month that you are going to want to make room for on your calendar! First of all, it's nearly time for our next monthly Fireside Chat Dinner Pairing. The week after that, Dog Days is hosting an awesome off-season winter concert. 

December Whiskey Dinner at the Boot
This time of year, your favorite BBQ restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks expands your culinary horizons every month with our very special Fireside Chat Dinner Pairings. These include a 5-course gourmet meal created by our very own, very talented Chef Kevin McCowan. Each of those delicious courses is paired with that month's featured beverage. For Tuesday, December 17, 2019, we're back to whiskey.  

Tickets are $75 per person with dinner beginning at 6:00 pm in our private Fireside Room. Seating is limited and at the time this is being written, tickets are nearly sold out already! (Don't worry too much if you miss this one. You'll have two more chances with another whiskey pairing on January 21, 2020, and a wine pairing on February 18, 2020.)

For our December Fireside Chat, each course will be paired with an incredible whiskey. The dinner menu will include: 

1st Course

Winter Concert at the Dog 
To celebrate the 1st official day of winter on Saturday, December 21, 2019, our sister restaurant Dog Days Bar & Grill is hosting a concert featuring a local favorite, the Mixtapes, with special guests 2 Screws Loose. The Dog is actually closed this time of year, so this concert is a special event you simply can't miss out on! 

Tickets can be picked up at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in advance for $10 each or you can buy tickets at the door at Dog Days on show night for $15 each. The doors will open at 7:00 pm with music starting at 8:00 pm. For this concert, only the bar will be open so be sure to join us at Wobbly Boots BBQ beforehand for dinner!  

In case you haven't had the pleasure of hearing the Mixtapes perform before, you are truly in for a real musical treat! Their musical lineup is loaded with a huge range of songs spanning the 90s including tunes from No Doubt, Third Eye Blind, Britney Spears, Nine Inch Nails, The Cranberries, Blink 182, Ricky Martin, Spice Girls, Nirvana, and more. Basically, if you loved it from the 90s there's a good chance you'll hear it during their show. This will be the first appearance of 2 Screws Loose at the Dog and believe us, you're going to love them too!

Jackson Family Wines
Our featured wines this month come from a family-owned wine company based out of Santa Rosa, California. Their portfolio includes brands from vineyards and wineries in California, Oregon, the Bordeaux region of France, Tuscany, Italy, Australia, Chile, and South Africa. Holding over 30,000 acres in the United States, Jackson Family Wines is the largest owner of coastal vineyards in California and Oregon and they are considered one of the world's largest wine producers.  

It all started in 1974 when Jess Jackson bought an 80-acre orchard in Northern California to plant grapes for winemaking. The business was founded in 1982 and its first vintage of Kendall-Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay was released in 1983. This particular wine won the first Double Platinum Award in the American Wine Competition! 

From that beginning, they now offer a large variety of amazing wines, have branched out across the world, and have won numerous awards in the process. You already know that Chef McGowan's dishes are irresistible. These wines will make the dining experience even more incredible!

Come Back for the Gala of Trees
Don't forget that on the following day, Wednesday, November 20, 2019, the 11th Annual Gala of Trees will kick-off at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach. Bidding on gorgeously decorated Christmas trees and holiday wreaths will happen by silent auction November 20-23. 

A special Gala Kick-Off Party will take place on opening night beginning at 5:30 pm. Tickets for this private event are $20 each and available for purchase right now at Wobbly Boots BBQ. Everyone attending will receive one glass of Gala Punch, a delicious buffet, and the chance to win a special Gala Christmas Wreath that will be given away that evening at 8:00 pm. 

On Friday, November 22, you can purchase a half-price appetizer when you bring in 5 non-perishable food items for the local food pantry. (One per person) Then, at the close of the silent auction on Saturday, November 23 at 8:00 pm, we'll be hosting a live auction with even more awesome items up for grabs. It's tons of fun and all for a great cause!

Get Ready for the 11th Annual Gala of Trees at the Lake of the Ozarks

We realize that there are some people out there that prefer to focus on Thanksgiving before decorating for Christmas. The 11th Annual Gala of Trees is a great reason to make an exception! 

This beautiful Lake of the Ozarks annual event gets everyone into the spirit of the season, lets you pick up amazing holiday decor for your home, plus benefits some wonderful local organizations. Wobbly Boots Roadhouse is proud to be the home for this gorgeous celebration!  

4 Days of Holiday Beauty
The 2019 Gala of Trees at the Lake of the Ozarks will take place November 20-23. Wobbly Boots Roadhouse will be completely filled with beautifully decorated trees and wreaths. This holiday decor can be bid on, silent auction-style, throughout the event. We host the Gala of Trees before Thanksgiving so that you can have your winnings in time to "deck the halls" at your place! 

All proceeds from the tree and wreath sales will be given to Candyland and The Idiot's Club to purchase toys for local children. In 2018, we were able to raise a whopping $20,015.86! 

You can come in anytime during the regular hours at our Lake of the Ozarks BBQ restaurant to place your bids. Local businesses and organizations have filled these decorations not only with holiday decor but also additional surprises like wine bottles, coupons, event tickets, gift cards, and more! In addition to the silent auction, we've also got a couple of special evenings planned for you as well. 

Gala Kick-Off Party
You can begin bidding on Wednesday, November 20 when we open at 11:00 am. That evening the restaurant will be closed for a private Gala Kick-Off Party beginning at 5:30 pm and you're invited! 

Tickets for the Gala Kick-Off Party are $20 each. This price includes a buffet, one glass of Gala Punch, and a chance to win a special Gala Christmas Wreath that will be given away that evening at 8:00 pm. 

Cans For Christmas
Toys aren't the only items needed over the holidays. Local food pantries often need help restocking their shelves too. 

For that reason, all day long on Friday, November 22, we'll be collecting donations for the local food pantry in conjunction with the Gala of Trees. When you bring in just 5 non-perishable food items to donate, Wobbly Boots will give you half-off one of our delicious appetizers! (One per person)  

Silent Auction Ends & Live Auction Begins
At 8:00 pm on Saturday, November 23, the silent auction will officially close so that the winners can claim their decorations. That's not your last chance to take home something awesome though!

Immediately after the silent auction closes, we'll begin a live auction for even more terrific stuff that you won't want to miss! You might even be able to get some early holiday shopping out of the way. Better make plans right now to spend that entire Saturday night hanging out with us at Wobbly Boots BBQ!

The night before the Gala of Trees, on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, Wobbly Boots will be hosting another one of our gourmet Fireside Chat Pairing Dinners! This month, instead of pairing Chef McCowan's mouthwatering courses with elite whiskeys, we'll be pairing them with wines! 

This will be the first wine dinner we've hosted and we've got a lot of people that are very excited about it. You might want to reserve your spot early before they're all gone! The dinner is $60 per person and is an evening any foodie and/or wine-lover will not want to miss.

Join Us at Lake of the Ozarks WingFest 2019

When you're searching for the best wings at the Lake of the Ozarks, our flavorful, tender, hickory-smoked Wobbly Wings are a great place to start. In our humble opinion (and that of just about every person that has given them a try) the wings at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in Osage Beach are the tastiest, most enjoyable wings you're ever going to sink your teeth into! 

Of course, if you're the type of person that likes to compare a few different wings all at once, you're in luck! You can join us, along with many other lake area restaurants, for the 2019 Annual Lake of the Ozarks WingFest.

2019 WingFest Details
This year's tastiest of events, the 2019 Lake of the Ozarks WingFest, will take place on Wednesday, September 25 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Regalia Hotel & Conference Center in Lake Ozark.  

Tickets can be purchased in advance at any Central Bank of the Lake of the Ozarks location for just $10 or at the door for $12. Plan to show up good and hungry because, with that ticket, you get 2 straight hours ALL THE WINGS YOU CAN EAT! (While they last, that is. This is a VERY popular event, for obvious reasons!) 

Your ticket also comes with one free drink plus there will be a cash bar available. They plan to keep you entertained in addition to well-fed because the wonderful Cindy Lawhorn will be performing at WingFest again this year. All of the proceeds raised from ticket sales will be used to benefit local charities.

Bikefest 2019 - Come to the Boot for a Passport Stamp & Stay for the BBQ!

We're getting ready for the 13th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse September 11-15, 2019, and you should be too! This event is filled with all kinds of excitement every year, including a Passport Ride with a grand prize of a brand new Harley-Davidson motorcycle. 

You favorite BBQ restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks happens to be one of the stops on that passport ride and we'll have plenty of smoked meats and refreshing beverages on hand for you when you stop by. 

Bikefest Passport Ride

The Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest is made up of many different exciting activities taking place all over the lake area. The Passport Ride is one of the highlights because not only do you get the chance to travel between 24 different stops located all around this gorgeous area, but you can also win a new 2018 Harley-Davidson Softail Fat Bob Motorcycle!

Passports are available for a $20 donation at any of the official stops (including Wobbly Boots Roadhouse!) and you may fill out more than one passport if you like. You will have the passport stamped at each participating stop and once it's full, it will need to be delivered to the "Official Passport Booth" at the Lake of the Ozarks Harley-Davidson store by noon on Sunday, September 15 to be eligible for the grand prize. AquaPalooza 2019 is This Weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks

Instead of focusing on the best BBQ at the Lake of the Ozarks in this week's blog, we're joining in the excitement of the biggest single-day boating event at the Lake of the Ozarks - AquaPalooza 2019! The Concert
Hundreds of boat will fill the cove at Dog Days and thousands of people, both by water and by land, will flock to this exciting event surrounding a massive 4-band concert! A special stage is set up facing the water, which can be both seen and heard from both land and lake. Choose to chill out on a boat or on a floatie by the docks or at the restaurant on dry land. If you only want to hear the concert, you could even listen from the comfort of those incredible pools!

The Venue
Dog Days Bar & Grill is a part of the same Barrett Restaurant Group as Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, so if you like the food we create, you're going to love theirs too. As a matter of fact, Wobbly Boots BBQ fans will recognize some familiar flavors on the Dog's menu like the Hickory Smoked Wings and slow-smoked pulled pork found on a couple of different menu items! 

You'll also discover gourmet nachos, beach bowls, crab legs, specialty burgers & sandwiches, seafood, steak, salads, and much more. When it comes to drinks, they've got plenty of bars open making sure that no one goes thirsty! There's one inside, another outside in the Dog Pound, a swim-up bar, and one more upstairs on the Woof Top Patio. (The view from up there is spectacular!)

After a long day of fun in the sun, head on over to our Lake of the Ozarks BBQ restaurant to wind down and get out of the heat. After all of that partying, you're bound to be hungry again!
