December Whiskey Dinner at the Boot
This time of year, your favorite BBQ restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks expands your culinary horizons every month with our very special Fireside Chat Dinner Pairings. These include a 5-course gourmet meal created by our very own, very talented Chef Kevin McCowan. Each of those delicious courses is paired with that month's featured beverage. For Tuesday, December 17, 2019, we're back to whiskey.
Tickets are $75 per person with dinner beginning at 6:00 pm in our private Fireside Room. Seating is limited and at the time this is being written, tickets are nearly sold out already! (Don't worry too much if you miss this one. You'll have two more chances with another whiskey pairing on January 21, 2020, and a wine pairing on February 18, 2020.)
For our December Fireside Chat, each course will be paired with an incredible whiskey. The dinner menu will include:
1st Course
Bourbon braised smoked ham hocks/ Porcini mushroom/ Lintels
2nd Course
Wilted greens/ Roasted apples/ Caramelized onion/ Grits/ Spicy rinds
3rd Course
Plum sticky short rib/ Rice noodle/ Grilled leeks/ Fermented honey
4th Course
Pecan smoked shoulder bacon wrapped shrimp/ Sweet corn mash/ Soft boiled egg/ Pork belly sprouts
5th Course
Bacon-wrapped orange chocolate volcano/ Bourbon caramel sauce/ Chiffon and toasted coconut
To celebrate the 1st official day of winter on Saturday, December 21, 2019, our sister restaurant Dog Days Bar & Grill is hosting a concert featuring a local favorite, the Mixtapes, with special guests 2 Screws Loose. The Dog is actually closed this time of year, so this concert is a special event you simply can't miss out on!
Tickets can be picked up at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse in advance for $10 each or you can buy tickets at the door at Dog Days on show night for $15 each. The doors will open at 7:00 pm with music starting at 8:00 pm. For this concert, only the bar will be open so be sure to join us at Wobbly Boots BBQ beforehand for dinner!
In case you haven't had the pleasure of hearing the Mixtapes perform before, you are truly in for a real musical treat! Their musical lineup is loaded with a huge range of songs spanning the 90s including tunes from No Doubt, Third Eye Blind, Britney Spears, Nine Inch Nails, The Cranberries, Blink 182, Ricky Martin, Spice Girls, Nirvana, and more. Basically, if you loved it from the 90s there's a good chance you'll hear it during their show. This will be the first appearance of 2 Screws Loose at the Dog and believe us, you're going to love them too!
