No Matter What You're Craving, These 3 Restaurants Have You Covered!

When you are craving award-winning BBQ, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse has all of your favorite hickory-smoked meats along with a wonderful variety of non-BBQ menu items as well. We do realize, though, that even if we happen to be your favorite restaurant & bar at the Lake of the Ozarks, occasionally you might be in the mood to try something different. Well, we can help you out there too!

As a part of the Barrett Restaurant Group (which offers the best catering at the Lake of the Ozarks), the Boot also has two "sister" restaurants in Osage Beach offering their own mouthwatering specialties. With warm weather on the way, both Dog Days Bar & Grill & Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina have the added benefit of being located on the lake too! Here's a closer look at what you can enjoy at all 3 places.

Wobbly Boots Roadhouse
Wobbly Boots BBQ is the home of the lake area's most savory, mouthwatering, hickory-smoked meats and out-of-this-world house recipe BBQ sauce. In addition to amazing BBQ dishes, we also serve fresh salads, tasty soups, delicious sandwiches and wraps, Black Angus burgers, Southern comfort foods, and homestyle sides to go along with it all.

You will even find some incredible seafood dishes on our menu, plus delicious steak dinners, including a hickory-smoked prime rib dinner that is so special we save it for Friday and Saturday nights only.

We've got a fully-stocked bar featuring 21 beers on tap, some enticing Mule cocktail recipes, and an unbelievable whiskey selection. Wobbly Boots Roadhouse offers a family-friendly atmosphere for dining with the ability to handle both large and small groups. There's even a "front porch" area for you to enjoy your meal on!

If you happen to be a sports fan, we're definitely the place that you want to be. We have 21 televisions placed strategically around the restaurant so there's not a bad seat in the house, plus a giant projection screen. All of this fun and deliciousness is available to you year-round.

Dog Days Bar & Grill
Dog Days Bar & Grill has been a popular waterfront bar & restaurant serving the lake area since 1993, originally known as the "Salty Dog." There you will find something for everyone.

They have a wide range of favorite dishes on their menu each year, including Chef's Signature Burgers, Crab Legs, Beach Bowls, Gourmet Tacos, and the best Seafood Nachos in town. Each season they also come up with a wonderful variety of new dishes to tempt your taste buds. We always look forward to seeing what new dishes the chef comes up with each year!

Here you will also find the best lakeside pools at the Lake of the Ozarks. One is family-friendly, and the other includes a swim-up bar and plenty of in-water tables to hold all of those delicious drinks, including the ever-popular frozen Pain in the A**.

This is also the place to enjoy some of the best annual events n the area, including AquaPalooza, the biggest one-day boating event at the Lake of the Ozarks! With live music scheduled weekly, both indoors and out, plus a fantastic view of the lake's main channel, this is definitely a spot you will want to check out! They even offer a luxury Lake of the Ozarks waterfront vacation house rental that houses up to 18 guests and is located right next door.

Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina
Next up is Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina featuring both an amazing Cajun-style restaurant and an incredible marina, gas dock, & C-store. People come back year after year to enjoy the authentic Creole cuisine featuring rubs and spices direct from Louisiana, including their World Famous Crab Cakes, Crawfish Etouffee, Po Boys, and Jambalaya.

There are plenty of traditional dishes on their menu too, like mouthwatering steaks, savory seafood, incredible wraps, sandwiches, and a whole lot more. When it comes to cocktails, they simply can't be beat! Shorty Pants has a wonderful wine selection, ice-cold beers, and signature cocktails which include muddled Mojitos, Cajun Bloody Marys, and a long list of Hurricanes.

The best gas dock at the Lake of the Ozarks offers fuel and other necessities for your boating needs, plus snacks, package liquor, soft drinks, sunglasses, suntan lotion, and much more. You can rent a covered dock slip for your boat or jet ski, allowing you to also take advantage of the many extra amenities that the marina has to offer. Located right next door to Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, they also have 2 Lake of the Ozarks waterfront vacation rentals available for groups both large and small.

Whether you're in the mood for mouthwatering BBQ, New Orleans-style cuisine, or great food to enjoy poolside and lakeside, the Barrett Restaurant Group family can take care of you! We love seeing you here at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse as often as possible, but visiting our sister waterfront restaurants and bars at the Lake of the Ozarks should be on your to-do list too. As a matter of fact, you may even see a few of us there on our days off!

4th of July at the Lake of the Ozarks & Wobbly Boots BBQ

Did you know that the most popular holiday to enjoy the best BBQ at the Lake of the Ozarks is the 4th of July? Wobbly Boots Roadhouse can take care of all your food needs, and the lake area has plenty going on to take care of the rest of your holiday fun!

Dine In or Order Out
Whether you decide to dine in the family friendly, home style atmosphere of our Lake of the Ozarks BBQ restaurant or pick up some delicious dishes to take home to the family or picnic in the park, we've got you covered! You'll find favorite cookout-style meals on our menu, as well as lots of culinary delights that only our incredible smoker can produce.

Burgers are a popular BBQ treat, and our Black Angus Burgers are the best in the Midwest. Made from 100% hand pattied black Angus ground chuck and cooked on a flat-top iron, these burgers simply can't be beat. We've also got Hickory-Smoked Chicken Dinners glazed in homemade BBQ sauce, and of course, don't forget the ribs! Our Baby Back Ribs and Classic Pork Spare Ribs are the juiciest, most tender ribs you'll ever have the pleasure of tasting. Pair any one of these with some of our home style side dishes, like Legendary Baked Beans, Gourmet Potato Salad, or Creamy Cole Slaw, and you're all set!

Lake of the Ozarks Fireworks
Fireworks and the 4th of July go hand in hand, and the lake area boasts lots of incredible fireworks displays for you to enjoy over many different nights this year. Head on out to see the show after dinner at the Boot, or let us pack your to-go order so you can take it along with you to eat picnic-style while you wait for the fireworks. Most shows begin right after dusk, and multiple displays can be seen from various spots around the area, both by land or water. Here are some of the local displays happening this year.

3 Amazing Places To Visit This Memorial Day Weekend

We're sure everyone out there is making plans for how to celebrate their Memorial Day Weekend. Well, you need to add the best restaurants at the Lake of the Ozarks to those plans! Wobbly Boots Roadhouse is very proud to be a part of the Barrett Restaurant Group, which means we've got 2 sister restaurants in the area offering amazing food plus some pretty incredible live entertainment too!

Wobbly Boots Roadhouse
When it comes to food on Memorial Day Weekend, you simply have to have some BBQ in there, and we've got the best BBQ at the Lake of the Ozarks! The 3-day holiday weekend gives you some extra time to gather your family and invite your friends to hang out and have some fun. Wobbly Boots BBQ has plenty of room to accommodate you all, but if you prefer to head out to the park or the beach, place your order to go!

Our award winning, hickory-smoked BBQ is the perfect thing to fill your picnic baskets with this holiday. You can order enough for a few of you, or if you give us some advance notice, order BBQ in bulk and feed the whole clan! In addition to the hickory-smoked goodness of our meats and the tasty, house-made BBQ sauce we have to offer, you can also order all the family-style sides that everyone loves. Of course, if you're willing to leave the lake for a little while and come on into the restaurant, we've got all that for you right here too, plus Sunday you can enjoy Happy Hour ALL DAY LONG!

Dog Days Bar & Grill
Our oldest "sibling" restaurant is good old Dog Days Bar & Grill. They're getting a bit of a face-lift this season (they're adding on, including a pool!) but along with that new look comes all of their classic dishes that lake area residents and visitors alike have fallen in love with; Chef's Signature Burgers, Crab Legs, Gourmet Tacos, and the best Seafood Nachos in town. This year they've also added some amazing Beach Bowls, featuring healthy, fresh ingredients, like in their Chicken Stir Fry Bowl and Maui Fish Bowl.

Don't forget about those incredible frozen cocktails too! They feature one bar inside the indoor dining area, plus the great big tiki bar area overlooking that gorgeous Lake of the Ozarks. Between the 2 bars (with more being added this season!) you'll find all your favorite mixed drinks, as well as a large variety of both bottled and draft beer. If you're wanting to get out on the water but didn't bring a watercraft of your own, they've got a BomBay Boat Rental Company location on the Dog Days docks. Last but not least, the live music lineup for Memorial Day Weekend is an impressive one.

Our Cajun sister restaurant can be found a little further down the lake from Dog Days. Shorty Pants Lounge offers the best Cajun food at the Lake of the Ozarks, and Shorty Pants Marina has the best gas dock and C-store in the lake area. We can't forget to mention, too, that they have 2 of the best vacation rental houses next door to the restaurant that can be yours for a few days.

On the food menu, you'll find authentic Cajun flavors featuring rubs and spices direct from Louisiana, as well as quite a few non-Cajun menu options too. People just can't get enough of their world-famous Crab Cakes, or that unbelievable Crawfish Etouffee. Their Prime Rib Burgers and Signature Entrees are also popular menu items. From the bar (you'll find one inside and another outside by the water) you can enjoy muddled Mojitos, Cajun Bloody Marys, an awesome wine selection, lots of ice-cold beer, and much more.

Shorty Pants Marina & C-Store have gas and other necessities for your boat or jet ski, plus snacks, package liquor, soft drinks, sunglasses, suntan lotion, Shorty Pants gear, and much more. You can even reserve one of their covered dock slips to keep your boat in while you are in town, allowing you to take advantage of the many amenities the marina offers. Oh, and they have awesome live music too!

The Barrett Restaurant Group - 3 Lake Area Dining Spots to Enjoy

The best BBQ restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks is a member of a very prestigious bunch of fantastic dining establishments - the Barrett Restaurant Group. This is made up of ourselves, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, as well as our two sister waterfront restaurants: Dog Days Bar & Grill and Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina.

Lake of the Ozarks, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse, Dog Days Bar & Grill, Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina

Connye Griffin recently wrote a wonderful article about the two brothers behind these awesome places, Mark & Brian Barrett. You can read that article at LakeExpo.com. Today our blog will focus on giving you the details about what makes all of these restaurants similar, yet incredibly different in their own special ways.

Dog Days Bar & Grill

The first restaurant that Mark & Brian opened up in the lake area was this incredible waterfront establishment, originally known as Salty Dog. It has grown a lot since it began in 1993. This is a great place to enjoy a nice dinner with your family by the water, join a group of friends for a fun afternoon of dining and drinking, or dance the night away with whatever band is playing on one of their two stages.

Centrally located just west of the Grand Glaize Bridge in the heart of Osage Beach, Dog Days is easy to get to by both car and boat. They have even teamed up with BomBay Boat Rental Company, who has a rental location for boats and jet skis at the Dog Days docks.

It is home to the best live entertainment at the Lake of the Ozarks, hosting popular events including AquaPalooza, the Canine Cannonball, and the Spring MDA In-Water Boat Show. You can enjoy talented musicians nearly every single night there too.

On the menu, you will find a wonderful array of items; steak, crab legs, signature burgers, gourmet tacos, incredible appetizers, amazing entrees, and so much more. Pair any of those with the delicious frozen drinks coming out of the bars, like Pina Coladas and Rum Runners, and you've got a meal you won't soon forget.

Dog Days is also one of the few places in the lake area to offer a late night menu on the weekends, available from 10 pm - midnight every Friday and Saturday night. They also come up with specialty menus many times throughout the summer that are only available for a month or so at a time. Lots of variety and loads of fun, seven days a week, spring through fall every year.

Wobbly Boots Roadhouse

After successfully running Dog Days for years, The Boot was born. We started in a small building, but have since relocated twice due the the fact that people love our hickory-smoked flavor so much, those other buildings simply weren't big enough to contain us!

We now have room to host lots of large groups, as well as smaller ones. Even with the additional space, you may have to wait in line occasionally for a table. Folks that give us a try just can't wait to come back for more. Our BBQ recipes have earned numerous national awards from some of the most prestigious BBQ contests around the country.

This is largely due to our mouth-watering hybrid style of cooking, which pulls inspiration from the BBQ meccas of the U.S.A.: Kansas City, St. Louis, Texas, Memphis, and the deep south. All of our meats are slow-smoked over hickory, and our amazing BBQ sauce is made in house from our own secret recipe.

You won't find a better chicken wing anywhere around, and all of our other hickory-smoked meats are used in a variety of fantastic dishes throughout our menu. These meats include: classic pork spare ribs, baby back ribs, hand-pulled pork, beef brisket, turkey breast, pit ham, chicken, and sausage links.

That's not all we do well though. You will find lots of non-BBQ items on our menu too: the Cowboy Cobb Salad, Smoked Meatloaf, Catfish BLT, hand-pattied 100% black Angus burgers, and every weekend, the best Prime Rib in town.

We have a full bar, featuring 21 draft beer selections and our incredible Moscow Mule creations. While  you are enjoying an ice cold beer and some savory BBQ, catch your favorite sports on our 21 televisions strategically placed around the restaurant, including the giant projection screen behind our Wobbly Boots stage. That stage often hosts some of the most talented musicians in the lake area too. The Boot is a great place to hang out with some great people, have an incredible time, and enjoy some of the best food you'll ever eat.

Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina

The next to join our little family was another waterfront bar and restaurant in Osage Beach, and this one even came with its own marina. Shorty Pants Lounge boasts a full menu on which most of the items have a true Cajun flavor, featuring rubs and spices straight out of Louisiana. Authentic Creole cuisine served lakeside.

This restaurant is one that the entire family can truly enjoy. They offer a terrific kids' menu in addition to many specialty creations that the grownups will love. A few of the more popular items are the world famous Crab Cakes, Gumbo, Shrimp Etoufee, Shrimp, Catfish, mouth-watering steaks and award winning baby back ribs. Dine next to the water's edge or in the air-conditioned indoor dining room, or kick back by the fireplace outside and watch the game.

The outdoor tiki bar and indoor bar both offer legendary cocktails like hand-muddled Mojitos and their famous Cajun Bloody Mary. There is a full selection of ice cold beers and fantastic wines to enjoy with the new cheese, sausage, and fruit appetizer plates.

A short walk down the dock will bring you to Shorty Pants Marina. Voted the lake area's Best Gas Dock 6 years in a row, you can fill up your watercraft with gas, then step inside to visit the C-store and pick up everything that you will need for a fun day on the water; snacks, drinks, ice, oil for the boat, koozies, sunglasses, Shorty Pants gear, and much more.

You can rent a dock slip for boats up to 56-feet, plus enjoy many wonderful marina amenities while you are there. Need a place to stay while you visit the lake? They also have two fantastic Lake of the Ozarks vacation rentals to stay in right next door the the restaurant and marina.

That's not all!

Those are the three amazing restaurants that you can enjoy at the Lake of the Ozarks, but in 2015 a second Wobbly Boots Roadhouse location was added in Clive, Iowa near Des Moines. Those lucky Iowa residents have their very own taste of the lake, right at home.

The Barrett Restaurant Group also offers catering, combining the delicious flavors of all three of their incredible restaurants. You just give us a call, tell us what you need, and we'll come up with the perfect menu and deliver it to you, hot and tasty.

The next time you are searching for the best restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks, visit one of the Barretts' marvelous dining establishments. No matter which one you end up at, you can't go wrong. Now that you know all about them, work a trip to each one into your next visit. We can't wait to serve you!
