Crawl for the Roses This Saturday at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse

This Saturday, May 7, 2016, the fastest thoroughbreds will make their "Run for the Roses" at the Kentucky Derby. Your favorite BBQ restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks will not only be showing this infamous race, but we'll be celebrating it in style.

While the Kentucky Derby has been taking place since 1875, this year Wobbly Boots Roadhouse is participating in the Lake of the Ozarks 1st Annual "Crawl for the Roses" sponsored by Four Roses Kentucky Bourbon. Our sister restaurant, Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina, will also be one of the stops hosting this exciting party.

Saturday, May 7, from 3-6 pm, our bartenders will be filling Four Roses Bourbon souvenir cups with special race day cocktails. While the horses race for that coveted garland of red roses, Wobbly Boots will have roses for the ladies simply for joining us (while supplies last.) We will even be holding a competition of our own for both the ladies and the gentlemen.

A $50 gift certificate will go the customer with the best derby hat or bonnet. Wearing an extravagant hat is a derby tradition. It's an incredible way to make a bold fashion statement, it keeps the sun out of one's eyes at the track, and over the years these hats have become a symbol of good luck. The fancier the hat, the better the luck.

Four Roses Bourbon

2016 Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals - May 6-8

The historic Bagnell Dam Strip will once again be the site for central Missouri's largest car show - the Annual Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals. Friday-Sunday, May 6-8, 2016 you can view some of the most spectacular automotive showpieces you've ever seen.

Not only will you see these magnificent cars on the Strip, but all over town. The Wobbly Boots Roadhouse parking lot is usually filled with a few of these at different times during this annual event at the Lake of the Ozarks. We may not be right next to all of the action, but we're close enough that they bring a lot of it to us!

The Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals features all makes, models, and years of cars, trucks and motorcycles. 2016 will be the 28th year the lake area has had the honor of hosting this event. The entire Bagnell Dam Strip is closed to traffic for the weekend, leaving visitors free to roam up and down the mile-long "parking lot" filled with gorgeous vehicles. The show hours officially open at noon on Friday and will conclude on Sunday with awards at 1 pm. Here is the detailed schedule (subject to change):

According to their website, this is the only car show that gives away a new muscle car. Just imagine, after a full weekend of checking out some of the best cars around, you could take one home! The Lake Ozark Daybreak Rotary will be raffling off a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro. There are only 2,500 tickets being sold at $20 each. Those odds aren't too bad. You don't even have to be present to win, and you can smile knowing that all proceeds raised will fund local organizations. Tickets can be purchased at Hy-Vee and Kwik Kar in Osage Beach, and Hulett Automotive in Camdenton.

If you love classic cars and spending an afternoon on the historic Bagnell Dam Strip, then this is a weekend you do not want to miss. When you are ready for a break from the crowds, head on over to our Lake of the Ozarks BBQ restaurant. We'll be showing all of the baseball and basketball action all weekend long, and on Sunday, it's Happy Hour all day.

Also, during the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 7, from 3-6 pm, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse will be participating in the Four Roses Kentucky Bourbon's "Crawl for the Roses" event. There will be fresh roses for the ladies, souvenir drink cups, and a $50 gift certificate going to the person wearing the best Derby hat. You know how it is.
