WingFest brings many local restaurants together under one roof and gives them all a chance to prove they can cook up the best chicken wings at the Lake of the Ozarks. Your ticket includes all the wings you care to eat during the event, 2 drink tickets for either beer, wine, or soda, and musical entertainment from the talented Cindy Lawhorn. If you'd like to purchase your tickets in advance, they are available at all of the Central Bank of the Lake of the Ozarks locations. 

Why The Boot Should Win

Just one taste is all you need of our Lake of the Ozarks BBQ restaurant's tender, mouthwatering, hickory-smoked wings to convince you that they are the best in the Midwest. Since you can't have them until next week's Wingfest (unless, of course, you come on into to Wobbly Boots Roadhouse sooner than that) here is a vivid description of our delicious wings to give you a good idea of what you can expect. (The pictures help too. If we could only figure out how to add the irresistible scent into the blog...) 

First, we coat jumbo chicken wings in our very special house dry rub. Next, they are slow-roasted in our hickory pit until they reach the perfect degree of fall-off-the-bone goodness. After that, you are welcome to enjoy them as-is, because our plain smoked wings are absolutely delicious on their own. If you prefer your wings with sauce, we've got some amazing options for you too.

• Original - A mustard-based sauce like no other.
• Chipotle Buffalo - Our version of traditional Buffalo.

Labor Day Weekend 2018 & Beyond - September Fun at the Lake of the Ozarks

Labor Day Weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks is here once again, but don't think that means the end of summer fun around here. On the contrary, after this big holiday weekend, there are quite a few incredible annual events going on in the lake area, the weather is still wonderful, and the views slowly begin turning all sorts of gorgeous colors. 

In today's blog, Wobbly Boots Roadhouse has information on some things you can enjoy this Labor Day Weekend 2018 plus even more exciting events coming up after the holiday weekend.

At the Boot
Our Lake of the Ozarks BBQ restaurant opens at 11 am, 7 days a week, year-round to make sure that you have access to the best award-winning, hickory-smoked BBQ in the Midwest. The air-conditioned, family-friendly dining room is perfect for taking a break from hot holiday weather, but if you're planning to spend some time outdoors, you can always order your BBQ to go! 

If you happen to be a big sports fan, don't forget that college football starts back up again on Labor Day Weekend! You can catch all of the games right here with us at the Boot on our 21 TVs and the big projection screen. On the Lake
For those of you spending most of your time on the water over the holiday, be sure to stop by our sister waterfront restaurants. Shorty Pants Lounge & Marina is famous for their amazing Cajun cuisine, legendary cocktails, and incredible live music. The marina, gas dock, and C-store have everything you need, both for your boat and your crew, for a great day on the lake. 

Dog Days Bar & Grill not only offers amazing food and incredible drinks, but also a lakeside family-friendly pool plus a bigger pool complete with a swim-up bar. They've got amazing live music all weekend long and they are hosting another incredible Labor Day Log Jam with Logboat Brewing Co. and the Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival team on Saturday from 1-5 pm. 12th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest
Sept. 12-16
Our mid-Missouri town creates the ultimate Bikefest experience every year for motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the United States. Over 200 biker-friendly bars and restaurants get involved because this event is too large to be contained in just one spot! Throughout Bikefest you can experience great parties, rockin' concerts, a Passport Ride, motorcycle giveaways, scenic rides, and much more.   

Lake of the Ozarks Air Show
Saturday, Sept. 22
The lake area features many events focused on boats in the water and motorcycles and classic cars on the land, so it's no surprise that we cover the skies too! The Camdenton Memorial Lake Regional Airport hosts this annual day of celebration for our military, aviation, and more every year. You can witness daring acts in the air and on the land, vendor booths, a Ping-Pong Drop with prizes and other activities for the kids, plus a moving salute to our veterans. In case of inclement weather, the rain date for this event is Sunday, Sept. 23.     

Pumkin Chunkin' Palooza
Saturday, Sept. 29
This family-friendly day of excitement is a great way to say goodbye to September and get ready for all of the fun October brings with it. The Ozarks Amphitheater in Camdenton is the site for this annual event. Pumpkins will be "chucked" from a meticulously crafted trebuchet hourly, and in between that you can experience lots of other activities. These include a Largest Pumpkin Contest, a Pumpkin Decorating Contest, face painting, petting zoo, climbing wall, carnival rides, kids' activities, craft beers, wine tastings, food vendors, and more. 

Need a Place to Stay?
If you're traveling from out of town to enjoy all of the fun that the lake area has to offer throughout September (as well as into the fall and winter months) our sister waterfront restaurants also offer the best Lake of the Ozarks vacation house rentals. The Dog Days luxury vacation rental is located right next door to the restaurant & bar, has a fantastic lake view, 5 bedrooms, and can sleep up to 18 guests. 

Shorty Pants offers 2 terrific vacation rental houses next door to their restaurant & bar. The Glass House has 3 bedrooms and sleeps up to 8 comfortably. We're An Official Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest 2017 Passport Stop

We're getting ready for the 11th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest at Wobbly Boots Roadhouse September 13-17, 2017, and you should be too! This event is filled with all kinds of excitement every year, including a Passport Ride to win a brand new Harley-Davidson that our Lake of the Ozarks BBQ restaurant is thrilled to be a stop for.

The Passport Ride
Bikefest is made up of lots of different awesome events taking place all over the lake area. The Passport Ride is one of the highlights because not only do you get the chance to travel between 24 different stops located all around this gorgeous area, but you can also win a brand new 2015 Harley Davidson Street Bob Breakout Motorcycle! 

Passports are available for a $20 donation at any of the official stops, and you may fill out more than one if you like. You will have the passport stamped at each stop, and once it's full, it will need to be delivered to the "Official Passport Booth" at Lake of the Ozarks Harley Davidson before 3 pm on Sunday, September 17 to be eligible for the grand prize. Surprise Bartenders At The Boot For Our Can-Am Games Social Event

The Lake of the Ozarks has snagged another exciting event. The Can-Am Police-Fire Games will be taking place all over the lake area in 2018, but Wobbly Boots Roadhouse is bringing a little bit of the excitement to you early on Thursday, April 20, 2017 with a community social event to raise funds and awareness. We'll have a local fireman and/or policemen behind the best bar at the Lake of the Ozarks for a couple of hours serving your drinks and collecting those tips.

What Are The Can-Am Games?
These amazing games are put on to promote physical fitness and camaraderie among law enforcement, fire service, EMS, and protective services personnel and agencies. Groups from both Canada and the United States come together to compete in a variety of games.

In 1977, officials from the state police and fire games out of Washington and Oregon joined with a police-fire sports group from Western Canada. They formed an organization that put together a multi-sport event for police officers and fire fighters. This continued on an annual basis until 1996.

The games became so popular and they grew so large, the group reorganized itself and renamed the event the Can-Am Police-Fire Games as a better representation of where the participating athletes were coming from. They even expanded their list of eligible competitors to add emergency responders and protective services, including Emergency Medical Service providers, Homeland Security, Border Patrol, Corrections, and more. A wide range of competitive sports are tackled in these games, including swimming, ice hockey, archery, track & field, softball, and even poker, to name a few.    

Big Excitement For The Lake
In 2018, this exciting 6-day sporting event will be taking place right here at our very own Lake of the Ozarks! As a matter of fact, they've even got us scheduled to host again in 2020! All the more reason to show them some great local hospitality while they are here.

Host cities are required to make their bids for the games up to 5 years in advance so that they are able to see at least 2 year's worth of games in action before hosting their own. As of right now, we are expecting anywhere between 1,000-1,500 participants to compete in 49 different events. These events will take place all over the lake area, including Laurie, Sunrise Beach, Camdenton, Osage Beach, and Lake Ozark, plus a few in Springfield and Lebanon. Any profits made from these games will go to benefit Special Olympics Missouri.  

Join Us At The Boot  
Your favorite BBQ restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks is doing our part to help bring the Can-Am Police-Fire Games to town by hosting a social event this month. On Thursday, April 20, 2017 we'll have a surprise celebrity bartender mixing drinks alongside one of the Boot's very own bartenders. A local fireman and/or police officer will spend a couple of hours slinging drinks, and all of the tips raised behind the bar during this social will go towards bringing these fantastic games to the lake. Join the rest of the community at Wobbly Boots BBQ for this social and help the efforts to throw the best Can-Am Police-Fire Games that the organization has ever seen.

Tournament Day

This annual benefit golf tournament takes place every year to raise money for some incredible, local organizations. All proceeds raised benefit: Lamb House, Kid's Harbor, Kiwanis Club, L.A.N.I., and the CADV.

Registration on tourney day starts at 10 am, with a shotgun start beginning at 11 am. There will be cash prizes for the top golfers, as well as 18 hole proxies. Mexicali Blues will be providing box lunches for all participants.
